About Us

Thus says the Lord“Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls."

Jeremiah 6:16

"Walking the Ancient Paths Together"

We have a motto here at Christ the King: walking the ancient paths together. We believe that the church is most relevant, most engaged, and most engaging when it stands firm on those ancient paths given to us by our Lord Christ: word, worship, and community. That may sound strange--how can something ancient be relevant?--so let's try to unpack it a bit.

Community

When you come in for a visit to CTK you’ll find some things that will probably surprise you. First of all, you’ll come into a beautifully ancient building that has been here in Conshohocken for well over a hundred years (we were privileged to purchase the building in 2013), but though the building is ancient, you will find inside it a community of people of every age. You’ll find us enjoying one another’s company and conversation long after the service comes to an end. You’ll see friends who love being together. You'll find us gathered to receive the ministry of Christ, and you will find us glad to serve one-another.

Worship

When worship starts you’ll see a congregation that is incredibly thankful to be recipients of the undeserved love of God the Father through Jesus the Son. Our worship is historic, robust, weighty and wonderful. It is centered around our triune God, the Scriptures and the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our worship is liturgical and participatory. Believe it or not, we love to sing old hymns of the church that have stood the test of time. You’ll listen to our singing and realize that people actually are singing and enjoying it. We hope you’ll want to sing with us!

Word

You will find sermons that are grounded in unfolding the Word of God so that we learn to believe it and live it. We believe that the Bible is God's word for God's people, and as you hear that word you will find yourself at times challenged, confronted, encouraged, exhorted and compelled to walk with Jesus.

And that is what we want to do. We want to walk ancient paths together because we find them to be incredibly relevant. These ancient paths are meaningful and rich, stable and true, joyful and life-giving in the midst of our troubled world. We hope you will come join us as we walk together the path set by Jesus Christ.
