The modern world presents us with unprecedented challenges--recent scientific breakthroughs could have an earth-shattering impact on our understanding of humanity and culture, longstanding beliefs about gender and sexuality have come toppling down and are now considered by many to be offensive and even criminal, the world is hotter than it has ever been and the trend is escalating exponentially, and religion is arguably less valued by the majority of people than ever before.

Does the Bible have anything to say about these issues? Is the word still relevant? The Bible is, of course, an ancient book, and it does not tell us directly how to think about many of these contemporary challenges. At the same time, it is full of ancient wisdom--God's own wisdom--that give us general principles we can apply to every area of life. Every week in June we will examine one particular contemporary challenge and how God's word helps us to think about it and address it.

June 7. "The Future of Marriage, Family, and the Body" Dr. Jonathan Yates
June 14. "The Decline of Religious Liberty" Dr. Jonathan Yates
June 21. “Potential Scientific Breakthroughs which Provide Opportunities for Cultural Impact of Our Faith” Dr. Rob Ghrist
June 28. “On Christians and Climate” Dr. Tommy Keene
