MINISTRIES
Serving, Learning, and Growing Together
At Christ the King Presbyterian Church, worshiping God together on Sundays is the high point of our weeks. But building relationships in a Christian community happens in all sorts of ways throughout the week. You’ll find many opportunities to get plugged into small groups, take classes, serve the neighborhood, and make genuine connections with other people.
NEW TO CTK?
Introducing
CTK Class
Throughout the year, our pastor leads a small class for visitors who are either considering church membership or are interested in exploring more about our identity and beliefs as a church. While not an exact science, these classes are typically offered 2–4 times per year. The schedule is tailored to the makeup of the class members. Sometimes they’ll meet for a few weeks during the church’s Sunday School hour. Other times, they’ll meet for a Saturday morning seminar. But regardless, the focus of the time is to unpack what makes us unique as a church: our background and denomination, our beliefs and worship, our fellowship and community, our ministries and service opportunities. And the style is relaxed and conversational in a small group setting. It’s an open place to bring your questions!
HOME FELLOWSHIP GROUPS
Build Community by Joining a Fellowship Group
One of the best ways to get plugged into the community life of our church is to participate in one of our several Home Fellowship Groups. These small group Bible studies meet on weekday evenings in a variety of homes and neighborhoods throughout the greater Philadelphia suburbs. While each group looks a little different, the focus is always to spend an hour or two catching up, studying God’s Word, praying together, and enjoying tasty food! Each Home Fellowship Group leader works with their group to determine a topic for discussion. Some groups choose a book of the Bible to study while others dig deeper into the latest Sunday sermon. These groups provide a great way to connect with neighbors and friends, to grow in our common faith, and to disciple one another.
CHURCH FELLOWSHIP
Potlucks and Prayer Dinners
You’ll quickly discover that Christ the King is a church that loves to eat together! During the first week of every month, we offer two ways to gather for good food and sweet fellowship. On the first Sunday of the month, we host a potluck fellowship lunch immediately after the morning worship service. All are welcome, whether you bring food or not. There’s always more than enough to go around.
On the first Wednesday evening of the month, we host a dinner and prayer meeting at the church. This dinner is provided by the church. After dinner, we spend an hour in large-group prayer. It’s a relaxed environment where folks share and pray as they are comfortable. Many simply choose to pray silently. It’s always a refreshing time of seeking God together in prayer as a church.
