The modern world presents us with unprecedented intellectual challenges--the church’s reportedly tense relationship with scientific discovery induces many to question the traditions of faith, more and more scholars question the historical reliability of the gospels, and recent research in genetics calls into question the traditional view of the self and the soul.

Does the Bible have anything to say about these issues? Is the word still relevant? The Bible is, of course, an ancient book, and it does not tell us directly how to think about many of these contemporary challenges. At the same time, it is full of ancient wisdom--God's own wisdom--that give us general principles we can apply to every area of life. Every week in June we will examine one particular contemporary challenge and how God's word helps us to think about it and address it.
